Approach to achieve ISO-14001 international environmental management standard

As an automotive-related company, Shintec Hozumi appreciates our role in contributing to a better global environment and continues to devote our efforts toward a brighter future by working positively for environmental protection through corporate activities such as reducing domestic environmental burdens and developing eco-friendly products.

Basic Philosophy

We truly believe that environmental issues are common concerns for all mankind. In keeping with our basic philosophy "ongoing contribution to society", we will continue to commit our efforts to promoting a sustainable environment, globally and locally, through our corporate activities.

Environmental Commitment

Shintec Hozumi complies with the requirements of environmental legislation and approved codes of practice. In addition to that, as a Toyota Motor Corporation affiliated company, we also comply with the Toyota Earth Charter and have implemented essential environmental management systems (EMS) for the production processes such as the design and manufacturing of vehicle production line equipment, automotive service manual production, and media data processing.

  • 1. We have implemented an EMS that conforms to the ISO 14001 standard and continue working for environmental protection, systematically and effectively. The EMS will be reviewed and updated periodically, to ensure suitability for continual improvement.
  • 2. We aim for growth that has harmony with the environment together with together protecting the abundant global environment. We will accelerate “Zero Total CO2 Emissions Activities” targeting a realization of “2050 CARBON NEUTRAL” through our products and services.
  • 3. We focus on the following important issues and set practical objectives and goals for each of them:

(1)Reduce environmental hazardous materials by means of environmental assessment.

(2)Taking the initiative to realize a carbon neutral society utilizing TPS.

(3)Engaging in the prevention of off-site substance discharges that impact the environment.

(4)Waste reduction through resource saving and recycling.

(5)Communication with local communities as well as promote regional environmental clean-up activities.

(6)Promotion of essential environmental management to be the axis for Work Style Reform.
